We'll start at Homomonument—the first monument in the world dedicated to the gay and lesbian victims of the Holocaust. We'll walk through historic Amsterdam and enjoy the scenery while I tell you about the gay history of the city. We'll see the canals, the palace on Dam Square, and the Red Light District. Henk will enlighten you about being gay in the 17th Century and about prosecution during the centuries and how gay men and women found ways to live their lives. He takes you back to 1970 when social revolution and a gay writer paved the way for a thriving gay life in Amsterdam as Gay Capital. We'll end the tour at Café ‘t Mandje, a gay bar that opened in 1927.
Read moreWe will start at the Saratoga Hotel and walk to the Fraternity Park, a reference point for the LGBT and Trans culture of the city and of which there is even representation in the cinema, then we will walk to the Central Park and on the way we will talk about the evolution of the LGBT representation in art in Cuba, once in Central Park I will explain about the peaceful proposals made here in favor of equal marriage in 2019, after the end of this part of the experience we will take a car tour around the boardwalk, common meeting place for the community and its importance in the days against homophobia and transphobia. The tour ends at the La Guarida bar-restaurant explaining the architectural and cultural relevance of an emblematic building in Havana and its relationship with LGBT culture through the multi-award-winning film Fresa y Chocolate.
